Mary Lou and James F. Tretter Sr., of Whitehall, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary July 22.

Mary Lou is the daughter of the late Marvin and Estella Shiner.

James is the son of the late William and Blanche Tretter.

The couple was married July 22, 1961.

They have six children: Nancy, wife of Wayne Long; James F. Jr.; Carol Lee Carter, wife of James F. Carpenter III; David W., husband of Lenore; Matthew, husband of Christine, and Kimberly, wife of Ronald Hannis Jr.

They have 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A celebration with family is planned.
