It’s the heart of summer and Bethlehem is in bloom. You can take in some of the beauty when the Bethlehem Garden Club presents “A Midsummer Night’s Garden,” a National Garden Club Standard Flower Show July 31 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Advent Moravian Church, 3730 Jacksonville Road.

Everyone is invited to embark on a whimsical journey through the show of horticulture and design, filled with imaginative designs, creative inspirations and good gardening practices. The club hopes the show will ignite everyone’s passion for gardening.

The event is open to the public and free of charge, but donations are appreciated. As a nonprofit organization, the club relies on the generosity of local businesses, community partners, and friends of the club to help make this event a success. The support helps sustain Bethlehem’s gardening culture and keeps this cherished tradition thriving.

The club will also a host a plant and bake sale during the show.

The Bethlehem Garden Club was organized in May 1930, and became a charter member of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania in 1931. The club has participated in dozens of projects that have brought recognition and awards to the City of Bethlehem, including Victory Gardens, memorial trees, beautification hardscaping and the Miller’s House Garden.

The club’s mission is to increase the knowledge of, and to stimulate the love for, gardening among amateurs; to promote interest in horticulture and the art of flower arrangement through exhibition and study; to aid in the protection of the environment, native trees, plants and birds in the City of Bethlehem ad its vicinity; and to generate interest in enhancing our environment through conservation.

General meetings of the club are held on the third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. at Advent Moravian Church. The club year starts in September, and there are no meetings in January and February.
