Coplay Public Library: Library collecting donations of food, toiletry items

Coplay Public Library is collecting food and toiletry items for the Snack Pack Pals program. These items are sent home over long weekends with students in grades K-12 who have severe hunger needs.

We are collecting donations until the end of July. Place donations in the box located in the inside entrance to the library.

Storytime is planned for 10:30 a.m. July 17, 24 and 31 and Aug. 7 and 14 at the library. Registration is not required.

Registration is ongoing for the 2026 summer reading program — Unearth a Story — for both adults and children. Register on the library’s website, coplaypl.org, or at the library.

Earn tickets toward gift baskets by logging your reading, participating in activities and attending programs. There is also be a special program for adults who would like help with their family history research using Ancestry. Additionally, summer reading will feature an adult and family passport program, which encourages you to visit all LCLC libraries. You can win a special passport basket at our library. If you visit six libraries, you will be entered into a grand-prize drawing for an iPad.

The summer reading program ends Aug. 15, and the passport program ends Aug. 29.

Christina’s Reptiles will present a program noon July 25 as part of the summer reading program. Registration is required.

There is a 4-H program set for 11 a.m.-noon Aug. 5. The program will include an outdoor fossil hunt, weather permitting.

This program is appropriate for children and teens ages 5-18 with a strong interest in dinosaurs and fossils.

Space is limited to 12 participants, so registration is required. You must be participating in our summer reading program to sign up.

We will be showing “Dinosaur Train” movies 11 a.m. Saturdays as part of the summer reading program.
