Emmaus Sr. CM team outlasts Moore Twsp.

The Emmaus Senior Connie Mack baseball team is trying its best to rebound from a slow start to the season.

The Hornets dropped seven of their first eight games in the Lehigh Valley League season, but have since won three of their last five games to improve to 4-8 heading into this week’s games.

Emmaus saw a two-game win streak snapped by South Parkland last Monday, June 15. The Trojans scored five runs in the first inning, four in the second and eight in the third to end the game by the 15-run rule, 17-2.

South Parkland pitcher Dylan Mitchell limited Emmaus to four hits in the game. Getting hits for the Hornets were Braiden Marshall, Dellin Rodriguez, Julian Nieves and Jake French.

Emmaus survived a slugfest against Moore Township last Wednesday, 16-13.

Trailing 9-4 after three innings, Emmaus scored 12 runs over three innings, including a seven-run fifth, to earn the win.

Moore put up four runs in the top of the seventh inning before the Hornets closed out the win.

French led Emmaus with a 3-for-4 effort at the plate while scoring twice in the game. Rodriguez had two hits and drove in two runs.
