Phyllis H. Sakovits, 96, of Northampton, died July 1, 2026, at Fellowship Terrace, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late John Sakovits.

Born in Kreidersville, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Rice) Vandegrift.

She was employed for Northampton Area School District for 35 years, beginning as a secretary and retiring as the assistant business manager.

She was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and taught various religious programs including RCIA and Catechism.

She was a member of the PASR, Northampton County chapter, and was a volunteer at Northampton Area Public Library for several years.

She is survived by a son, Thomas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a sister, Joann.
