After a win in the first round of the District 11 playoffs, the Parkland softball team ran into top-seeded Freedom in the quarterfinal round and was eliminated by the Patriots in a 10-0 loss last Thursday at Pates Park.
Patriot pitcher Namelia Duro limited Parkland to four hits and a walk while striking out five batters.
Libby Pinkham, Addison Fritzinger, Cheyanne Brawn and Sarah Linko had hits in the game for the Trojans.
Freedom scored four runs in the third inning and ended the game with a 6-run bottom of the sixth. Brooklyn Pronovich led a 13-hit effort by going 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored.
The Trojans finish the season at 9-13 overall. The went 8-8 in East Penn Conference play to earn a place in the district tournament.
Freedom lost to No. 5 seed Northampton in the semifinal round. The K-Kids will take on Emmaus in Thursday’s finals. The second seed Hornets beat Stroudsburg in Tuesday’s semifinal round.
