Community fun at the Schnecksville Fair
The Schnecksville Fair has already started but still has Thursday, Friday, and Saturday full of activities and entertainment.
T-shirts with a scene of the Ferris wheel and midway are now available. Call Andrea at 484-695-6973 to find out how to obtain a shirt.
The fair features free shows such as the chainsaw extreme power carving competition, strolling entertainer Stevie Blat, and Balloons the Clown.
Agriculture highlights include livestock, animal exhibits, vegetable and fruit entries, floral exhibits, animal science, poultry, rabbits, antique farm equipment and the Wanna Be a Farmer experience.
Highlights for June 18 are the Keystone State Zwarter Midget Race Club, DJ Hot Wheels in the pavilion, both at 6:30 p.m., and the America 250 Drone Show at 9:30 p.m.
On June 19, Scott Marshall and the Highway Souls will be on stage in the pavilion at 7 p.m., the Animal Mardi Gras contest is at 8 p.m., and fireworks will go off at 10 p.m.
June 20 is Kids’ Day with a free ice cream sundae in the show ring arena at 6:30 p.m. and a children’s pedal tractor pull at 7 p.m.
Several baking contests will be held during the fair with entries such as apple pie, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, rhubarb desserts, chocolate cakes, and angel food cakes on display.
Many items such as arts and crafts, clothing and textiles, quilts, needlecraft, photography, LEGO, home canned fruits and vegetables, paintings and drawings, afghans, and more will be on view.
Of course, there will be rides and refreshment stands along the midway. The Schnecksville Fire Co. Cafe will be serving hot meals each night with the kitchen opening at 5:15 p.m.
Whatever your age or interests, you will find much to enjoy at the Schnecksville Community Fair, an annual event put on by volunteers and many sponsors to provide fun and entertainment for everyone.
Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will have worship in the grove at 10:30 a.m. on June 28. Afterward, everyone is invited to a Build Your Own Sundae picnic. There will be food for sale in the grove from 4:30–8 p.m., activities for kids, and free entertainment from the Third Hand Band from 5:30–8 p.m.
