Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., has scheduled its Friday night concerts. The lineup includes Sons of Izzy June 19 and South Penn Dixie June 26.

The gate opens 5 p.m., the kitchen will open 5:30 p.m., and the band plays until 10 p.m.

The 109th anniversary of Coplay Saengerbund will be celebrated at its Stiftungsfest, set for June 28. The event begins 2 p.m., with singing by the club and guest choruses in the social hall.

Outside in the grove, there will be music provided by the Emil Schanta Band. There will be music, dance, food and drinks.

Enjoy the traditions and customs of Austrian and German heritage. Wear your German outfits.

The event, sponsored by the club’s heritage committee, is open to the public.

The Wednesday night summer concert series, at Second and Chestnut streets, features James Supra July 1 and Deal Duo July 15. Concerts are 6-9 p.m.

Bring a blanket or chair, and enjoy an evening of music with friends and neighbors.

Coplay’s Parkway Pool opened June 14. The pool is open from noon to 7 p.m. seven days a week.

Aqua Zumba is held 5:45-6:45 p.m. Thursdays. There is a cost.

New 25-gallon recycle bins with lids are available for purchase and pickup at the borough office, 98 S. Fourth St.

The Coplay Food Bank, located in the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

The Coplay aerobics classes meet 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:45 a.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the borough hall auditorium. Bring light dumbbells, a towel and a mat to enhance your workout. There is a cost by donation.

Grass can only be dropped off at 1 Bridge St. Friday brush and branch pickup began in April.

Call the borough office to schedule pickups of sofas, plastic-encased mattresses, chairs, dressers, etc. There is a limit of two per year at no charge.
