Unlock the magic of reading with the library’s summer reading club

Join the Parkland Community Library’s “Unearth a Story” Summer Reading Club and unlock the magic of reading!

Anyone can sign up through the Beanstack app or at the Summer Reading Club Kickoff Party 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 13.

Enjoy the excitement of receiving swag just for taking part.

Children and teens will earn small prizes for their reading milestones, while adults will have chances to win gift card raffles.

It’s simple: read any book — any format counts. There are no required readings.

Encourage your family to join in and celebrate the joy of literacy together.

Even if you aren’t interested in prizes or swag, signing up is a wonderful way to show support for your library.

Submit your entries on Beanstack or bring your form to the youth services desk or reference desk.

Let’s dive into fantastic stories and make this summer a journey of reading discoveries.

Beyond our Summer Reading program, the library has exciting celebrations to share.

Thanks to the PA Earned Income Tax Credit program, Parkland Community Library received generous contributions for the Rebel Girls program from Neffs Bank and Embassy Bank this spring.

Library staff proudly represented us at the Parkland High School Festival of the Arts on May 16, Jaindl Elementary on May 20 and May 22, Veteran’s Memorial Elementary on May 29 and Kratzer Elementary on June 5. We are also excited to represent the library at the Schnecksville Fair Community Day on June 17.

Longtime library volunteer and friend of the library, Judy Kemmerer of North Whitehall Township, was honored as an Unsung Hero at a Lehigh County celebration on May 13.

Congratulations to all our dedicated volunteers who keep the book shop running and provide invaluable support to the library.

Join us for a roaring good time at the library this summer!

Maryellen Kanarr is the executive director of the Parkland Community Library, South Whitehall.
