A resident student ages 6-18 season pass is $80. Adult season passes for ages 19-85 is $105. Senior citizen season passes are free. A resident family pass is $210. Daily admission is $10 for students and $12 for adults. There is no cost for seniors.

Borough Manager Brian Welsko noted there have been many improvements to the pool complex, some of which are not visible with new pumps and other infrastructure beneath the pool upgraded. He thanked Horwith Trucking for the generous financial support to keep the pool open. Welsko said now is the time to come out and show support for the community swimming pool.
Assistant Borough Manager Jerry Serensits said the management and security teams hired to operate and keep the pool experience safe for this season are good, and he expects a successful summer at the pool.
There are many advantages of a community pool. They provide a safe, supervised environment with certified lifeguards, often at low cost to use. Swimming provides a full-body, low-impact cardiovascular workout. The workout is highly beneficial for joint health.
Being in the water helps relieve stress and lowers anxiety. The physical act of swimming, and along with relaxing poolside, stimulates the brain to release mood-boosting endorphins. A community pool encourages kids to spend time outdoors with friends and takes them away from their smartphones for perhaps a few hours.
A municipal pool, because it is considered a quality-of-life aspect of any community for potential real estate growth and business development, can foster a sense of community.
Council approved a request for a film event. A production of “View-Master: A Glimpse into 3-D” will be held June 13 at the Roxy Theatre. The production company received permission to use two parking spaces at the rear of the theater for a tented area to be used by cast and crew for food and drinks. They were granted the two spaces 10-11:30 a.m.
Haldeman announced the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States celebration in Northampton is planned for 5-9 p.m. July 3 at Municipal Park. The event will feature activities and food for all ages.
In her fire and health committee report, Councilwoman Bonnie Almond said it is not too late to enroll in the Northampton Fire Department’s fire cadet summer camp. The camp runs July 6-10, with a graduation ceremony July 11. The camp is for Northampton youth ages 11-15 at no cost.
Call the fire department at 610-262-9411 for details.
In his code and police committee report, Councilman Jason Donahue reported the borough’s zoning hearing board will meet June 11 in the municipal building with one item on the agenda. A variance is being sought to develop a storage facility with 25-35 storage units within the former Moore Cleaners building at 1627 Main St.
