Love Your Neighbor Churches Fundraiser for Medical Debt Relief is going on now through Aug. 15.

For every $10 donated relieves $1,000 of medical debt.

A group of local churches are gathering around this effort again challenging Lehigh Valley residents to join together to erase the medical debt in Lehigh and Northampton counties.

Donations can be made to one of the participating churches: The Barn, Allentown; Good Shepherd UCC, Slatington; Grace Lutheran, Macungie; Grace UCC Northampton; Heidelberg Union, Slatington; Jordan UCC, Allentown; New Creation UCC, Easton; St. John’s Lutheran/Second Chance Shoppe, Slatington; St. John’s UCC, Fullerton; St. John’s UCC, Laurys Station, Union Lutheran, Schnecksville and Union UCC, Neffs.

A community-wide picnic and celebration will be held 3-7 p.m. Aug. 16 at Union UCC Grove, 5550 Route 873, Neffs.

There will be food, music, playground and a gift card raffle.
