Churches plan summer activities

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will host Vacation Bible School June 14-18 for children ages 3-12. The theme is “Rainforest Falls! Exploring the Nature of God.” Family dinners will be served at 5 p.m., followed by VBS activities from 5:45-8 p.m. For information or to register, call 610-767-6884.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, will hold Vacation Bible School July 6-10 from 6-8 p.m. for children age 4 through seventh grade. The theme is “Bible Science.” Children will participate in projects, songs and stories. Preregistration is preferred. Call 610-262-8061 to register.

On July 12, VBS Sunday participants will share music with the congregation during the morning worship service.

DeSales University will present “Shakespeare in the Grove” at Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, 6:30 p.m. June 12.

The Vince’s Cheesesteak food truck will be on site from 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

Union UCC’s final 8 a.m. worship service of the season will be held June 7. The service will resume Sept. 13.

The Upper Lehigh Lions Club recently presented a $3,000 donation to Sights for Hope.

Club President Erin Heintzelman said the donation reflects the club’s commitment to supporting community organizations.

“I am reminded of how much energy and generosity fills our club each and every month,” Heintzelman said. “Thank you for continuing to show up, serve and support our community in meaningful ways.”

Sight for Hope provides services and skill training for people with limited or no vision and promotes healthy eye habits for prekindergarten children. The organization also provides free or low-cost eye exams and glasses for children in need.
