Coplay: Brindle Buddies and Friends plans basket social for June 6, 7

Brindle Buddies and Friends is holding its eighth annual basket social 4-7 p.m. June 6 and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. June 7 at American Club of Coplay’s pavilion, 300 Cherry St. The drawing is set for 3 p.m. June 7.

The admission cost includes 25 tickets to choose from more than 350 prizes. Extra tickets can be purchased.

Bring a food donation for the rescue group and get a raffle ticket for a $50 cash prize.

The kitchen will be open.

The Coplay Municipal Pool opens June 14. The pool will be open noon-7 p.m. seven days a week.

The Wednesday night summer concert series at Second and Chestnut streets, features Third Hand Trio June 17, James Supra July 1 and Deal Duo July 15. Concerts are 6-9 p.m.

Bring a blanket or chair, and enjoy an evening of music with friends and neighbors.

The 109th anniversary of Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., will be celebrated at its Stuftungsfest June 28. The event begins 2 p.m. with singing by the club and guest choruses in the social hall.

Outside in the grove, there will be music provided by Emil Schanta Band. There will be music, dance, food and drinks.

Enjoy the traditions and customs of Austrian and German heritage. Wear your German outfits, drindl, lederhosen, vests, hats, etc.

The event is open to the public.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

Coplay aerobics classes are held 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:45 a.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the borough hall auditorium. There is a cost by donation.

Bring light dumbbells, a towel and a mat to enhance your workout.
