Meals on Wheels seeks to improve the health, well-being and independence of homebound seniors and adults with disabilities. Home delivery of hot meals, frozen meals and grocery shopping are some of the services carried out by volunteers. Deliveries originate from one of eight locations (Two locations in Allentown, Bangor, Bethlehem, Bowmanstown, Cherryville, Easton and Nazareth) each weekday starting 10 a.m. Volunteers pick up meals, deliver to clients in a specific area following step-by-step directions and return empty carriers to their pickup site. Volunteer drivers are needed for ShareCare Faith in Action, Bethlehem, which provides free volunteer services to elderly or disabled persons in order to enhance quality of life. Sights for Hope, Allentown, is in search of compassionate and energetic individuals to assist clients with visual impairments during center based and community based programs.
