The Emmaus High School softball team won all three of its games last week, all Eastern Pennsylvania Conference contests, to remain undefeated in the EPC, the only team that can say that.

The Hornets opened the week with a 7-1 victory over Whitehall at Patriots Park in Allentown last Monday, April 20, and then followed that two days later with a 10-0 win in five innings against Central Catholic. Emmaus took care of Allen 15-0 in four innings last Friday afternoon.

In the victory over the Zephyrs, Emmaus trailed 1-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, but scored three runs that frame and added four more runs in the sixth to rally for the win.

The Hornets finished with 12 hits, led by a 4-for-4 day from Taylor Hauver, who also scored two runs. Sydney Bennett recorded three hits, including two doubles, and had two RBIs. Both Mari Eiswerth and Abigail Derr collected two hits and two RBIs, with Derr scoring two runs. Julia DeFanti had a hit and an RBI.

Eiswerth threw a complete game, giving up just an unearned run, striking out 11 batters.

In the win over the Vikettes, Emmaus scored in all five innings and did not allow a single hit as Eiswerth threw the no-hitter and struck out eight. Calise Eiswerth went 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Bennett, Derr and

Mari Eiswerth all had a hit and two RBIs, with Derr scoring three runs. Brianna Gitski ended with two runs scored.

Against the Canaries, Emmaus made quick work of the game, putting up eight runs in the top of the first inning and then adding five more in the second to put the game into the mercy rule.

The Hornets outhit them 13-0, with two hits and three runs scored each from Caylie Granitz and Julia Murphy-Peterson, with Granitz adding four RBIs. Calise and Mari Eiswerth, Derr, Morgan Schwab, Gitski, Bennett, DeFanti, Kandis Barthol and Marissa Gigliotti all finished with a hit.

Emmaus, which is now 14-3 overall and 13-0 in the conference, has three games left during the final week of the regular season.

The Hornets Dieruff on senior day this past Tuesday afternoon, are at Whitehall on Thursday and then host Parkland Monday afternoon in the regular season finale.
