Amato inducted into honor society
Giovanni Amato, of Whitehall, was among the 28 University of Scranton students inducted into Chi Delta Rho, the university’s chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, the international honor society for counseling. The international honor society was established in 1985 to recognize outstanding achievement and service within the profession of counseling. The university’s chapter of the honor society was established in 1994.
Amato is a graduate student pursing a clinical mental health counseling degree.

Cunningham inducted into honor society
Kayla Cunningham, of Catasauqua, was among the University of Scranton students inducted into Phi Alpha Theta, the international honor society in history. For induction into the honor society, students must have completed 12 credits in history, have a GPA of 3.33 or higher in history and rank in the top 35% of their overall class. The university’s chapter of the honor society was established in 1967.
Cunningham is a junior secondary education-citizenship and history major.

Reyes graduates
Among the more than 200 students who graduated May 1, Robelis Pichardo Reyes, of Catasauqua, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice administration.

Batista named to dean’s list
Katelyn Batista, of Whitehall, was among more than 7,000 students named to the fall 2025 dean’s list at Montclair State University. To qualify, students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
Batista is a dance major.
