Firefighters from Lower Macungie Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of West Second Street in Alburtis May 11.

Lehigh County 911 reported a detached garage “well involved” on fire located to the rear of the home. First responding units confirmed “heavy fire” coming from the garage.

Crews contained the fire to the garage, but the building sustained heavy damage.

Lower Macungie Fire Department crews were assisted by units from Topton and a rapid intervention unit from Greenawalds Fire Company.
