Moore Township: Meet at Borek field for walking event

The Moore Township Recreation Commission-sponsored Walk into the Weekend — One Step at a Time is holding its final walk 12:30-1 p.m. May 22 at the Borek football field at the recreation center, 635 English Road. All ages and fitness levels are welcome.

Bring a friend or coworker or walk solo and meet someone new!

Memorial Day weekend is soon here. Enjoy any planned cookouts, and remember the solemnity of Memorial Day, May 25, that honors American military personnel who died in service to preserve American freedom.

Supervisors will next meet 6 p.m. June 2 at the municipal building, 2491 Community Drive.

The historical commission will be meeting 7 p.m. June 23 at the municipal building. Learn about the rich history of Moore and raise awareness of the historical importance of the township.

Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Department, 2718 Mountain View Drive, is holding its annual grilling/smoking competition 4-8 p.m. June 28. The kitchen will be open for side dishes, baked goods and drinks.

There is a cost to purchase tasting tickets to vote on your best-liked meats. Three prizes will be awarded.

There will be raffles throughout the show.
