Cleanup set for May 16 at Jordan Parkway

Join Whitehall Township Environmental Advisory Council May 16, 9-11:30 a.m., for a cleanup at Jordan Greenway. Meet at the Home Depot parking lot on the south side near the trail.

Every spring, the EAC organizes community litter cleanups. These cleanups are available for all ages, and Whitehall High School students can receive community service hours by signing up on the Helper Helper smartphone app.

The group will clean the trail from MacArthur Road to Mickley Avenue. Refreshments will be served to volunteers at the Jordan Greenway trailhead off Mickley Avenue.

Volunteers need to wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts/jackets and close-toed shoes or boots. Volunteers who arrive improperly clothed will not be allowed to participate. A water bottle is also recommended. All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The EAC will provide gloves, reflective vests and insect repellent.

Rain delays will be posted on the Whitehall community Facebook page and Nextdoor.
