The next meeting of the J4 Committee will be held 6:30 p.m. May 14 at North Catasauqua Borough Hall, 1066 Fourth St. Be present and bring a friend or two or send a representative.

The group is also looking for craft vendors for the event. Craft vendors can contact Karen Kulp at karenk35@hotmail.com.

In addition, the group is seeking contributions to help offset the cost of the fireworks, which total $16,000 this year. This is a significant increase from previous years, so the community’s support in helping make this celebration possible is appreciated.

All interested are urged and welcome to attend the meeting.

Catasauqua Garden Club will be having its annual plant sale 9 a.m.-noon May 16 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Pick up locally grown, reasonably priced potted flowers, vegetables and house plants, as well as seeds and garden art.

The South Catasauqua annual neighborhood yard sale will be held 8 a.m.-2 p.m. May 15 and 16 at locations south of Race Street, up to and including Circle Drive. The sale will be held rain or shine.

There is a small participation fee to defray the cost of the neighborhood permit and the cost of advertising. Payment can be made to Linda at 385 Faith Drive, Ronnie at 520 Circle Drive and Eugenia at 817 Bath Ave.

Please pay the fee by May 9, so all expenses can be paid to guarantee a great sale.
