PHS girls lax remains unbeaten
The Parkland High School girls lacrosse team had a week off over the Easter holiday and followed it with a busy, four-game week last week.
The Trojans succeeded in all facets, winning all four of their games, two in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and two out of conference to remain undefeated on the season.
Parkland began the week with an 11-1 win over Easton last Tuesday, April 7, then followed that with an 18-1 victory at Northampton on Thursday. In back-to-back days in nonconference action, the Trojans defeated Souderton 13-9 on Friday and then ended the week with a 13-7 victory at Exeter Township.
In the win over the Red Rovers, Olivia Esteban led the attack with four goals and an assist. Both Jade Caravello and Laura Volpe tallied two goals, with Caravello adding an assist. Sydney Sensinger, Lila Temchatin and Addison Winfield found the back of the net once, with Winfield adding an assist. Audrina Stewart made three saves in net.
In the victory against the Kids, both Caravello and Esteban netted hat tricks. Volpe and Winfield recorded two goals and two assists and Sensinger contributed two goals and one assist. Temchatin, Samantha Schippell, Kyla Smith, Milla Hahn, Mads Conti and Abby Marquardt each scored a goal. Stewart finished with five saves and Molly Miller had one.
Against the Mounties, Winfield totaled three goals and two assists and Sensinger, Temchatin, Caravello, Esteban and Volpe all finished with two goals. Stewart finished with 14 saves.
In the win against Exeter, Caravello, Esteban and Winfield all had hat tricks. Sensinger and Schippell both tallied a goal and an assist and Volpe and Hahn each added a goal. Stewart made six saves in net.
Parkland improved to 10-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference with upcoming games against defending league champ Pleasant Valley (8-1 overall, 4-0 EPC) and Nazareth (9-1, 4-1) slated for Thursday (at PV) and next Tuesday, April 21, when the Blue Eagles visit Orefield.
