The Emmaus boys team tennis team started the season with nine straight wins before suffering its first loss last week
The Hornets beat Pleasant Valley and Southern Lehigh last week before falling to Liberty. Emmaus headed into this week at 9-1 overall and 7-1 in East Penn Conference matches.
In a 4-2 nonleague win over Southern Lehigh last Tuesday, March 24, Chris Stone and Cole Stuchko won singles matches, while the doubles pairings of Joe Brisgone and Sai Uppiretla, and Krishna Nemani and Aba Diop won matches against the Spartans.
In a 6-0 win over Pleasant Valley the next day, Stone, Caleb Brown and Stuchko swept the singles games, while Ben Books and Adam Waddell were doubles winners, along with Brisgone/Uppiretla and Nemani/Diop.
Two days later, Stone was the only Emmaus winner in a 6-1 loss to Liberty.
