The Emmaus track and field teams both picked up wins in their two most recent meets.

The Hornet boys team beat Central Catholic 144-6 last Monday, March 31 with the girls team earning a 117.5-32.5 win over the Vikettes.

In a nonleague meet on March 27, Emmaus beat Hazleton 110.5-39.5 in the boys meet and 86-64 in the girls meet.

Against Central Catholic, Henry Samer (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles) and Colin Nonnemacher (shot put, discus) won two individual events each in the boys meet. Emmaus won all three relays against the Vikings.

In the girls meet, Claudia Walls (high jump, long jump, triple jump) won three individual events. Mady McCartney (800, 1600) won two individual events and Emmaus won all three relays against the Vikettes.

Against Hazleton, 11 different Emmaus boys athletes won individual events and the Hornets won all three relay races.

Walls won three girls individual events against Hazleton, taking first place in high jump, triple jump and long jump. McCartney (1600, 3200) and Marleigh Llewellyn (100 hurdles, 300 hurdles) won two events each against the Cougars.

The Emmaus boys team improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in East Penn Conference meets. The Hornet girls improved to 2-1 overall and 3-1 in league competitions.
