EHS boys volleyball team improves to 4-0
The Emmaus High School boys volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2026 season as it remained undefeated through last week.
The Hornets also played well in the annual Bobcat Invitational at Northeastern High School in York.
Emmaus began the week by defeating Pocono Mountain East on the road last Tuesday, March 24, by scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-15. The Hornets then downed Allen two nights later by scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-16.
In the victory over the Cardinals, Sander Houtz led the attack with nine kills and had two digs. Miles Boulrice recorded eight kills and one dig. Grayson Answini tallied six kills, two digs and one block.
Jayden Perez contributed 28 assists and seven digs. Jesse Owusu tied Perez for the team lead with seven digs. Chris Romig totaled a team-best three blocks. Josiah Brown had six digs, two kills and one service ace.
It was a busy Saturday at the Bobcat Invitational as Emmaus played in eight matches, winning 10 of the 13 sets played.
In pool play, the Hornets went undefeated, taking down New Oxford 30-16, Saegertown 30-19, Cedar Crest 30-25 and William Tennant 30-19.
In the play-in bracket, they defeated Ambridge 15-11 and 15-12. In the championship bracket, Emmaus got the better of 10th-ranked Warwick 15-13, 16-18, 15-13 and Dallastown in the quarterfinals 15-12 and 15-13 before falling to Meadville, the top-ranked Class 2A team in the state. The District 10 squad wound up winning the championship defeating state No. 2 ranked in AA York Suburban 2-0 (25-19, 25-11).

Emmaus improved to 4-0 overall and 4-0 in the conference.
