Blue Eagles top EHS in five-set match

The Emmaus High School boys volleyball team suffered its first defeat of the 2026 regular season and first one in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference last week, but responded by winning its next match.

Emmaus lost to unbeaten Nazareth in five sets last Tuesday by scores of 27-29, 25-22, 31-29, 22-25 and 10-15 in a thriller of a match. Two night later, the Hornets answered adversity with a four-set victory at Northampton, winning 25-15, 25-20, 23-25 and 25-21.

In the match with the Blue Eagles, Miles Boulrice led the offense with 16 kills and nine digs. Senior Bilaal Kerim also had 16 kills, while defensively, seniors Jesse Owusu and Josiah Brown had 15 and 13 digs, respectively. Senior Ben Skekel handed out 43 assists.

In the victory over the Kids, Boulrice once again paced the attack with 13 kills and also added eight digs. Kerim finished with 11 kills, nine digs and one block. Sander Houtz tallied six kills, two digs and one block. Both Grayson Answini and Skekel recorded four kills with Skekel also contributing 35 assists and 10 digs. Owusu led the defense with 23 digs.

Emmaus moved 7-1 overall and 6-1 in the conference.
