Bethlehem Catholic’s boys tennis team won its third consecutive match with a 5-1 victory over Pocono Mountain East while Freedom lost a close 3-4 match to Stroudsburg last week.
The Golden Hawks won all singles matches with Liam Maloney defeating Brannock Taylor, 6-1, 6-0, Kendryk Silva defeating Preston Taylor, 6-1, 6-1, and Derrick Hartman defeating Alex Kaminski, 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles matches, Ralston Rowlands and Kolby Mease won, 6-2, 6-3, over Hayden Christman and Anthony Martinelli, and Nico Massa and Joey Maigur won, 6-1, 6-1, against Jacob Everet and Owen Farley.
The Hawks forfeited at No. 4 doubles.
Freedom’s match against Stroudsburg resulted in a win at No. 2 singles where Logan Ritter defeated Tobias Ricks, 6-0, 6-4.
At No. 1 singles, Stroudsburg’s Mason Ulmer defeated Oscar Avila, 7-6 (6) 6-3, and at No. 3 singles, Stroudsburg’s Keshav Persaud defeated Jonah Rodburg, 6-2, 6-0.
Freedom’s No. 1 doubles team of Brandon Vlach and Manideep Muwla defeated Maddox Joseph and Arda Gocuklu, 8-3, and the Pates’ No. 4 doubles team of Ian Jimenez and Zane Silvius defeated Jordan Elwood and Vaidik Patel, 6-4, 6-1.
Freedom’s Luke Eureyeck and Henri Houle lost to Josh Marosi and Dhyey Savaliya, 1-6, 5-7, at No. 2 doubles, and at No. 3 doubles, Michael Sloma and Owen Larison lost to Jason Pritchard and Ryan Rounsaville, 2-6, 0-6.
Also last week, Liberty defeated Pocono Mountain West, 6-0. Individual scores were incomplete at press time.
