‘Cinderalla’ sweeps into Bethlehem

The Liberty HS Theatre Company presents the Broadway musical “Cinderella” in the school theater on Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m., and Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m.

Rodgers’ and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” is a two act musical based on music by Richard Rogers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and the book by Douglas Carter Beane. The story is based on the original fairy tale “Cinderella,” of a young woman mistreated by her cruel and selfish stepmother and stepsisters, and helped by her fairy Godmother she attends the Prince’s Ball. It takes a twist in this version with Cinderella opening the prince’s eyes to injustice in his kingdom.

The production team consists of director Darah Donaher, assistant director Lindsey Fountain, music director Julie Wydrzyski, director of choreography Jennifer Dorn, pit conductor Ryan Hill, and intimacy choreographer Mackenzie Hall. Belle Kunkel is stage manager and assistant stage manager is Chloe Fatarullo.
