Crashes
A motorist was hurt when the minivan he was driving struck a utility pole and rolled twice in a one-vehicle accident along Limeport Pike, Lower Milford Township, 6:34 a.m. May 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was traveling westbound when the minivan went off the road, struck a concrete culvert and became airborne before hitting the pole. The motorist was transported to a hospital by Nazareth Ambulance Corps, according to authorities.
A motorist escaped injury when his vehicle struck a utility pole, snapping the pole at the bottom, in a one-vehicle accident in the area of Corning Road and Palm Road, Lower Milford Township, 12:22 p.m. May 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was westbound on Palm Road when it traveled off the left side of the wet road and crashed into the pole. The pole “required complete replacement,” according to authorities. PPL Electric Utilities and Rick’s Towing and Hauling also responded.
A motorist struck a barn in a one-vehicle crash along Country Club Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:44 p.m. May 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was traveling westbound, attempting to negotiate a right curve, when a deer ran into the road, according to a news release from state police. The motorist swerved to avoid the deer, went off the right side of the road and hit a barn. Yocum Towing and Recovery also responded and the property owner was notified of the damage to the barn, according to authorities.
A motorist attempting a U-turn struck two other vehicles in a crash along Hunt Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 12:14 p.m. May 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was traveling north on Hunt Drive when he attempted the turn. The driver of a southbound vehicle tried to avoid the turning car and pulled to the shoulder of the road and was struck by the turning car. The turning car next struck a vehicle parked legally, according to authorities.
A pedestrian was hurt when struck by a vehicle while crossing Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9:13 p.m. May 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk at the intersection with Hamilton Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle turning left from Hamilton Boulevard onto Brookside Road. The pedestrian refused transportation by Macungie Ambulance Corps, according to authorities. The motorist did not stop at the crash scene but was later identified and charged.
Vehicle theft
A 1978 Ford F150 pickup truck was removed from a location at the corner of Palm Road and Carls Hill Road, Lower Milford Township, sometime between 5 p.m. May 25 and 10 a.m. May 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Dog law violation
A 33-year-old female, of Macungie, was bitten by a dog near the area of Fresh Meadow Drive and Princeton Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:57 p.m. May 21, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The dog got off its leash and the dog’s handler allegedly did not provide help or any information at the scene. The dog was described as having black and brown fur and of medium size. Theft
A Lower Macungie Township resident noticed an unauthorized $58 charge on her bank statement after an incident involving a fraud alert appearing on her computer while she was playing a computer game, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported May 31.
Scam
An unknown person persuaded a resident of Sauerkraut Lane, Lower Macungie Township, to buy $900 in gift cards and share the activation codes for the cards by phone, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported April 8.
An unknown caller persuaded a resident of Indian Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, to send money through bitcoin kiosk machines for a fine owed for supposedly missing a court hearing, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported May 28, according to authorities.
Bad checks
Someone made a vehicle payment with a check written against an account with insufficient funds at Audi of Allentown car dealership, 4725 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported March 10.
A resident of Sequoia Drive, Lower Macungie Township, was notified someone tried to cash a check which the resident mailed April 19, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The person who tried to cash the check was not the intended receiver of the check, according to authorities. The bank denied the check and the incident was reported April 28.
Identity theft
A resident of Church View Road, Upper Milford Township, learned their personal information was used to try to open a credit card account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported April 15.
A resident of Mink Road, Upper Milford Township, learned their personal information was used to open a bank account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported April 15.
A resident of Westminster Drive, Lower Milford Township, learned their personal information was used to fraudulently open a Verizon account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported May 19.
Harassment
A 55-year-old female, of Allentown, was taken into custody for harassment after she allegedly fought with another person at a location on Barnside Road, Lower Macungie Township, April 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The fight involved a kitchen knife, according to authorities.
DUI
A motorist was charged with allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the 5600 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 6:48 p.m. May 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
