At last, fair weather for farmers market
After a few weeks of inclement weather, Pat Knopf, director of the Northampton Farmers Market, was happy to see a forecast of clear skies May 27 for the market. The market is held 3-6 p.m. every Tuesday through September at Municipal Park, Smith Lane and Laubach Avenue, under the park pavilions.
Knopf said a new organic vegetable vendor from Alburtis has signed on for the 2025 market. Salvaterra’s Gardens, a certified organic produce operation owned by Matt and Jessica Salvaterra, had Jodi Schwenk, of Alburtis, staffing the produce area. The richly colored greens were attractive and included a variety of lettuce, cabbage and more. Visit salvaterrasgardens.com for information about their produce offerings.
Vendors include a baker of homemade cookies and pastries by Amanda Housenick, an Italian/Greek entrepreneur who offered a wide variety of baked goods. She was nearly sold out by 5 p.m. Call 570-490-1740 or email bakedwithgrace14@gmail.com. She noted she can bake any pastry item you desire.
Graver’s Farmstead sells grass-fed beef and farm-raised pork to environmentally attentive people. Visit graverfarmstead.com for more information about the quality products they raise and sell.
Another baked goods vendor was Nana’s Fresh Baked Goods, from Moore Township, who was delighted to be nearly sold out of her delicious baked goods and rich slices of tasty, dark chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. Her shop is at 564 Moorestown Drive, Bath, and is open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays.
Vendors also include a stand called Walking Tacos, operated by Pat Knopf’s husband, Ron, who is also a Northampton Borough councilman. Ron Knopf plans to alternate the stand as a taco stand one week and a hot dog/chili dog stand the next week.
Saint Rocco’s Treats of Bucks County offers healthy pet food and treats. Products are made fresh daily. Katlyn Luckenbach, of Nazareth, staffed the Rocco’s table. Visit saintroccostreats.shop for more information to make your pet a happy companion with healthy food and tasty treats.
Carol York Roach staffed her Tastefully Simple table. Email yorkys@rcn.com or call 610-509-4894 to place an order or for more information.
Pat Knopf was delighted with the first warm, dry day for the market this season with happy vendors who will make for a fun, successful market season. She was impressed with the attendees and the goodwill that permeated the afternoon and early evening.
