The Emmaus High School boys lacrosse team started the 2025 regular season fast, winning both of its first two games.

But in the second week of the season, the Hornets faced adversity for the first time and dropped two of their three games, including falling in conference for the first time.

Emmaus lost at Easton, 14-3, last Tuesday, March 25, followed that up with a 14-6 victory over Northampton at Memorial Field that Thursday and then lost in nonconference action at Wilson West Lawn last Saturday, 16-5.

In the game with the Red Rovers, Easton took a sizable lead in the first quarter, scoring seven of the eight goals in the frame. They added three more in the second quarter and kept Emmaus out of net to go up 10-1 at halftime and cruised the rest of the way. Kaleb Mains, James Schauer and Gabe Chies scored the goals for the Hornets. Jack Sullivan finished with six saves and Logan Schissler added three.

In the victory over the Kids, Mains led the attack with a game-high five goals and two assists. Chies recorded a hat trick and each of Jewlien Torres and Schaeur tallied two goals. Both Greyson Schmidt and Reilly Bechtel found the back of the net once. Alex Younker contributed two assists and Anthony Attar added one. Collin Garrett won 16-of-24 faceoffs and Sullivan ended with nine saves.

Against the Bulldogs, Wilson used strong second and third quarters where they outscored the Hornets 11-2 after leading 3-1 following the opening quarter. Younker finished with a team-best three goals and both Mains and Chies had one. Schissler made five saves in net.

Emmaus has another busy week this week as it travels to take on Northwestern Lehigh Tuesday and then hosts Pleasant Valley Thursday in a conference game before welcoming Pine-Richland to Memorial Field on Friday.
