Upper Macungie police officer earns reconstructionist status

Upper Macungie Police Officer Joshua Forrester was recently recognized for being the only municipal police officer in Lehigh County to become an “Accredited Traffic Accident Reconstructionist” through The Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction.

This certification is held by a small handful of Officers throughout the Commonwealth, according to the police department’s Facebook page.

This accreditation is internationally recognized by both the legal and scientific communities as the premier standard for reconstructionists seeking expert witness status.

A reconstructionist only becomes accredited after passing both a board review of the applicant’s qualifications and previous work, as well as the successful completion of an eight-hour written examination on both theoretical and practical applications in the field of accident reconstruction.

Forrester currently serves Upper Macungie Township residents as a member of the Traffic and Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit, and serves all of Lehigh County as the team leader for the Lehigh County Accident Reconstruction Task Force.
