I am partial to “PAW Patrol” movies and television series.

My initials are PAW: Paul August Willistein.

That said, the movie, “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie,” is a charming, entertaining and fun animation feature film that can be enjoyed by pre-schoolers and elementary school age children and their parents, grandparents and guardians.

“PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie” is MPA rated PG, one of 38 PG-rated movies of 252 movies released as of Aug. 26, including re-releases, according to Movie Insider website.

Of new releases so far in 2026, PG-rated movies include “Wicked: For Good,” “The Pout-Pout Fish,” “Charlie the Wonderdog,” “The Last Whale Singer,” The Magic Faraway Tree,” “Minions & Monsters,” “Moana,” “Zootopia 2,” “GOAT,” “The Super Mario Galaxy,” “Hoppers” and “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants Movie.”

The “PAW Patrol” television series premiered in 2013 on Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. in the United States. The series’ 13th season began in March.

In the “PAW Patrol” storyline, a boy named Ryder leads a crew of search and rescue dogs in Adventure Bay. Each dog has skills based on emergency services professions, including firefighter, police officer and aviation pilot. They live in doghouses that transform into “pupmobiles” for their missions. Each dog has a hi-tech backpack called “pup packs” that contain tools relating to their job.

A spin-off television series, “Rubble & Crew,” premiered in 2023.

“PAW Patrol: The Movie” was released in 2021. A sequel, “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie” was released in 2023.

In “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie,” third in the movie series, the PAW Patrol’s rescue boat crashes during an ocean storm on an island inhabited by dinosaurs.

There, they meet Rex, a stranded pup. A mining scheme by Mayor Humdinger, recently released from prison, triggers a volcano. The PAW Patrol must save the island.

“PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie” is directed by Cal Brunker (Director: “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” “PAW Patrol: The Movie,” “The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature,” 2017; “Escape from Planet Earth,” 2013).

The “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie,” screenplay is written by Brunker, Bob Barlen (screenwriter: “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” “PAW Patrol: The Movie,” “The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature,” “Escape from Planet Earth”) and Keith Chapman (screenwriter: “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” “PAW Patrol: The Movie,” “Bob The Builder” television series, 1997-2012, 2015-2018, and videos).

If you are familiar with “Bob The Builder” (as I was with my son Elias), you will have an idea of what to expect with the “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie.”

The characters are amiable, the storyline is easy to follow (with key plot points often stated by the characters). The action is mostly unobjectionable. The humor is in the category of “dad jokes.”

The animation is bright. The backgrounds are detailed. The puppies are cute, cute, cute. The dinosaurs are menacing, but not too menacing. It’s, ahem, “Jurassic” “PAW”k.

At the heart of “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie” are the adorable puppies and their high-tech vehicles, which transform like Transformers. They also have lots of gadgets.

Standout characters are:

Ryder (voiced by Henry Bolan), a boy who heads the PAW Patrol;

Marshall (Carter Young), a Dalmatian as a firefighting pup;

Chase (Rain Janjua), a German Shepherd as a police pup;

Skye (Mckenna Grace), a cockapoo as an aviator pup;

Rubble (Lucien Duncan-Reid), an English Bulldog as a construction pup, and

Rex (Hayden Chamberlain), a paraplegic Bernese Mountain Dog stranded on the island.

Also memorable is the plot’s villain, Mayor Humdinger (Ron Pardo).

In supporting roles, the voice talent includes Terry Crews, Meredith MacNeill, Jennifer Hudson, Fortune Feimster, Jameela Jamil, Bill Nye, Snoop Dogg and Paris Hilton.

I enjoyed “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie.” I think you will, too.

Credit Readers Anonymous: The end credits of “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie” include cut-out style animation sequences of characters from the film. The Backstreet Boys sing “Bottle Up” in the movie and during the end credits.

At The Movies: “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie” was seen in the standard format at AMC Center Valley 16.

“Onslaught,” MPA rated R; 1 hour, 32 minutes. Adam Wingard directs Adria Arjona, Dan Stevens, Eric Wareheim, Michael Biehn, Michael Biehn and Rebecca Hall in the Science-Fiction Horror Action film. Synopsis: A squad of genetically engineered super soldiers goes rogue in the desert. An Army sniper tries to protect her young daughter.
