Miles for Kids

PRESS PHOTOS BY DONNA GEWERTZ Lou Sobrinski, of Bethlehem, and Trent Bilous, of Macungie, take the early lead at the start of the Miles for Kids event April 13 at Whitehall High School. The family-friendly event raised funds for the construction and maintenance of an inclusive and accessible playground in Whitehall Township with a unique surface that allows for wheelchairs and other physical aid equipment to move safely. The playground is a vision of Cindy Miles, the owner of a pediatric physical therapy practice in Whitehall Township for more than 25 years.

More than 80 people are ready to run/walk in the event. Funds were raised for construction and maintenance for Cindy Miles' vision of an inclusive and accessible playground, which features a unique surface that allows for wheelchairs and other physical aid equipment to move safely, in Whitehall for people of all disabilities.
WHS students show their support by participating in the event.

The beads were given to participants every quarter of a trip around the track to complete the complimentary necklaces as a remembrance of their efforts. Participants completing the 1-mile event could receive up to a total of 16 participation beads for their necklaces.
