FARMSTAND OF THE WEEK-309 Corn Shack

FARMSTAND OF THE WEEK-309 Corn Shack

I visited the 309 Corn Shack this week.

It is owned by third generation farmer Andrew Wertman and his wife, Lydia.

Andrew started growing sweet corn to give to land owners his family rented property from for their crop farm as a way to say thanks.

When he purchased his own property in October 2021 he decided to grow sweet corn on four acres of his own land because everyone he gave it to liked the corn so much and opened the 309 Corn Shack in summer of 2022.

The Corn Shack is located at the corner of Route 309 and Mosserville Road in New Tripoli.

Look for the big red wagon and the driveway is right after you pass it.

Andrew is growing six different varieties of corn and sells it for $8 a dozen.

The stand usually opens around the Fourth of July and is self-serve.

It is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

They have 12 ducks and sell the duck eggs year round.

They also offer seasonal vegetables and currently have zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers available for purchase.

Their most popular variety is called Kate and is bi-colored and will be available soon.

Andrew and Lydia plan to offer more varieties of corn and vegetables in the future.

Follow their Facebook page for updates and availability!
