Joint Lehigh Valley Knights of Columbus: Charity cornhole tournament set for May 18

The Joint Lehigh Valley Knights of Columbus is hosting a charity cornhole tournament, scheduled for May 18 at Egypt Memorial Park, 4548 Main St., Whitehall. Check-in and practice start 11 a.m., and the tournament starts noon.

The family event will be held rain or shine and is capped at 48 teams of two. Participants must be 16 years old or older to compete. Tournament participants will receive lunch and one drink per team member with the $60 entrance fee.

Games will be played to a score of 21. A team must win by two points. There will be cash prizes for the top three teams. The first-place prize is $250, the second-place prize is $100, and the third-place prize is $60.

Spectators, guests, cheerleaders and families are welcome. Food, beer, snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. There will also be a kids’ cornhole area, 50/50 and basket raffles.

Food donations will be accepted at the event. All proceeds will benefit Parkland CARES and Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative.

The mission of WCHI is to alleviate food insecurity in Whitehall and Coplay. WCHI is a 501(c)3 nonprofit 100% volunteer-based organization that has been providing meals to children and families in the community since 2015.

Parkland CARES strives to feed and serve every member of the Parkland community affected by and suffering from hunger. It is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization run by dedicated individuals and volunteers to help in the fight against hunger in the community.
