Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church to host the Macungie Band for a concert April 28

Salisbury Middle School will hold its annual spring concert 7 p.m. April 18. This is always a great event showcasing the talents of the middle school students.

The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment testing is almost here.

English/language arts testing will be held April 22-24 for grades three to eight. Math testing will be April 29-30 for grades three to eight and science testing will be May 1-2 for grades four and eight.

Do you have a student who loves sports? St. Luke’s is offering a summer sports camp June 10 to Aug. 23 at 3323 Seventh St., Whitehall. This covers a variety of sports, with different activities each day. You can sign up for as many days or weeks as you want. The sports camp is open to boys and girls ages 5-14. Another summer camp opportunity is the Wildlands Conservancy. The conservancy offers a multitude of summer camps ranging from preschool to fifth grade with titles like Rhythm of Nature, Outdoor Skills, Water’s Edge and Realm of the Forest. Camps are offered at the Emmaus site, but also Hopewell Park in Center Valley and Lone Lane Park in Upper Macungie. If you register before May 1 you can save 10% on registration. Looking ahead: The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club clothing drive is 9 a.m. to noon June 8 at the Salisbury High School auxiliary gym entrance. Clean those closets out now!

Save the date: Class of 2024 graduation will be held June 2 at the SHS stadium.

Yard waste drop offs are open. The Franko site will be open April 18, 20 and 29 and Devonshire will be open April 22, 25 and 27. As always, hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
