District News: Testing set to begin April 22

PSSA testing will begin April 22 for students in grades 3-8. The first window of testing will be in language arts. April 29 testing will be in math and science. Makeup tests will also be given April 29.

Be sure to get a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast the next morning; remember to be on time each day.

Reminder: Northampton Area School District’s spring community classes are underway.

This program offers a diverse range of courses that cater to personal interests and promote fitness and leisure activities. The courses are taught by experienced instructors and are priced affordably.

The community classes will include yoga sculpt 7-8 p.m. April 18 and 25; aqua aerobics 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 30; and lap swim 7:30-8:30 p.m. May 1, 8, 15 and 22. All classes are held at NASD locations.

Northampton Area High School will be hosting a college and financial aid information fair 6-8 p.m. April 24 in the gymnasium.

There will be a parent meeting for the Borough, George Wolf, Lehigh and Moore elementary schools instrument safari, planned for 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 25 in the cafeteria at George Wolf. The meeting will be regarding elementary music programs throughout the district.

The NAHS band will perform its spring concert 7-8:30 p.m. April 26 in the auditorium.

NASD is in need of substitute teachers, instructional assistants, custodians, health room assistants, nurses, hall monitors and security guards.

For teachers, if you have a teaching degree or a bachelor’s degree in any area, you can be of service to students.
