The Allentown Area Food Bank is seeking a volunteer to pick up food items from Giant on Emmaus Ave, Allentown, at 8 a.m. on Tuesday mornings and/or from Wegmans on Tilghman Street, Allentown, at 10 a.m. on Friday mornings, and bring the items to the food bank located on N 14th Street, Allentown. Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley is hosting a volunteer event 6-7 p.m. on April 30 to kick off the 2024 event and outreach season! Patriot K9 Rescue is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to care for retired Military Working Dogs, Contract Working Dogs and Retired Police K9’s. Docents are an integral part of the Lehigh Valley Zoo in Schnecksville. These are long term volunteer positions who act as informal teachers for the public and assist the zoo in connecting our guests with our mission by interpreting exhibits across the zoo, assisting with interactive exhibits, and working alongside our education team. Calling all fashionistas who have knowledge of diverse women’s current fashion styles. YWCA Allentown’s Perfect Fit Resale Boutique is looking for volunteers for a weekly, 3-hour shift, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. any day Tuesday to Friday. Volunteers will manage and organize inventory by size, style, and season, and must be able to lift and carry heavy items and move rolling racks.
