Northampton Exchange Club holds spring craft fair

Northampton Exchange Club’s semiannual craft fair was held March 17 at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.

Northampton Exchange Club President Wayne Mery, who also served as craft fair co-leader, was delighted with the attendance. The parking lot overflowed with cars.

Mery was helping at the tricky tray sales table with Brenda Chandick and Wanda Litke. His spouse and co-leader of the event, Linda Mery, staffed a Tastefully Simple vendor table and assisted in running the craft show.

The kitchen was open during the event and was busy serving a variety of food to attendees.

Catherine and Wayne Berger, of Cathy’s Crochet Critters in Bethlehem, offered a wide array of crochet products. She was delighted to show off her cute, popular items such as Minions, Spider-Man and Batman-themed items. Call 484-547-3419 or email cathyscrochetcritters@gmail.com for information.

Donna Keyser, from Freemansburg, offered beautiful baskets. She is the proprietor of Creative Baskets by Donna: Baskets for all Occasions. The quality and detail were impressive. Email keysers@rcn.com or call 484-619-1789 for more information.

Loretta Belle Art, by Loretta Belle, offered attractive gifts and stationary products inspired by nature. Visit lorettabelleart.com to review the many items she creates.

Precious Presents, by Brenda and Chelsea Reiter, featured unique items and seasonal gifts for sale. Their handmade book items are meticulously crafted. Call 610-905-3452 for more information.

Kristen Berke and Tiffany Ruby stocked their spring-themed stand with attractive holiday items, perfect for the warmer weather.

A cultural apothecary named Campbell and Carr offered a variety of teas for sampling. Shelby Platutu Banks, of New York City, is the owner. C&C’s theme is “Potions, Victuals and Sundries for a Happy Life.” Visit campbellandcarr.com to learn more.

Mary Kay products were presented by Andrea Leibensperger, of Whitehall, and Karen Krist. One can get a complimentary makeover by emailing makeithpn@verizon.net or visiting marykay.com/kkrist.

Satisfied attendees saw interesting, diverse products for sale, good food to eat and a sense of commercial connection at a fun social event. The basket raffle was popular, and the club craft fair operators were delighted at the fair’s success.

The Northampton Exchange Club craft fair team will start planning shortly for the larger October craft fair.

The club has been serving Northampton since 1927. It sponsors numerous community service projects, including the Jack Frost parade and Northampton Community Days festival. It also provides lights for the parkway system, flies flags on holidays and selects the Northampton Area High School Students of the Month.

The Exchange Club is seeking members. Visit nationalexchangeclub.org or call the borough office at 610-262-2576.
