Laurys Station Community Day Sept. 19

Laurys Station Community Day will take place from noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Laurys Station Fire Company, 5314 Egypt Road.

The event will feature games for kids, an inflatable moon bounce and an obstacle course.

Refreshments will be available from the fire company food stand, Rachel’s Place and the Issa Ice Cream Truck.

A basket raffle and craft vendors will be set up.

Seven Sirens Brewery and Soaked Winery will also be on the scene.

Music will be supplied by the Castaway Band from 2 to 7 p.m.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, resumes Sunday School at 9 a.m. Sept. 13 after the summer break.

Worship time for the new season returns to 10:15 a.m. Sept. 13.

St. John’s invites the community to Harvest Home at 10:15 a.m. on Sept. 20, continuing the tradition of gratitude for the blessings of food and the farmers who raise it.

The church will be decorated for the occasion.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will stage its annual Bookfest from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 12 and 13 in the Family Life Center.

The event is open to everyone, and the books are free.

Union Lutheran will hold Rally Day at 10:15 a.m. on Sept. 13 for a new season of Sunday School for ages 3 through grade five and Youth Group for grades six through 12.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will host a Barbecue Bash from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 19.

Here is an opportunity to enjoy a great night of music, food and fellowship in the grove.

The church food stand opens at 4 p.m., with hot dogs, sides, baked goods and ice cream available.

Lorah’s will be offering half-chicken dinners or pulled pork sandwiches.

Music from the ‘60s and ‘70s will be supplied by Time Whys.

Bring a chair or blanket or enjoy the covered picnic area.

Union UCC will resume the 8 a.m. worship time Sept. 13.

On Sept. 20, Education Hour returns at 9:15 a.m., and Children’s Church begins a new season during the 10:30 a.m. service.
