Police report shows 204 calls in February

Macungie Borough Council met for its regularly scheduled meeting March 18 where several items were submitted for approval.

The Department of Public Works requested Stanley Street Sweeping in the amount 0f $8,400 which was approved.

Consideration was requested for submission of a zoning map amendment to the borough and county planning commission for review which was approved.

Borough authority requested to host the Lehigh Valley Water Suppliers luncheon meeting in June at Macungie Institute with fees waived. This was approved.

Mayor Ron Conrad presented the police report. There were 204 calls dispatched in February compared to 132 calls in February 2023. The calls range from burglaries to domestic disturbance to EMS calls. Motor vehicle accidents, parking complaints, suspicious activities, trespassing and other police activities are also included.

A resident on Church Street completed a sidewalk reconstruction. The borough’s engineer expressed concern over the completed project noting it may not be up to standards. Further information will be gathered.

An executive session was held regarding legal, real estate and personnel issues.
