Whitehall Township Public Library: Whitehall library introduces new reading resource for kids

New to the library are Wonderbooks - print books with a ready-to-play audiobook inside. Kids will press play to read along with their favorite books and switch to learning mode for literacy learning and fun. Borrow one today!

Registration is required for spring storytimes, set for 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays until April 23 for preschoolers and 11 a.m. Thursdays through April 18 for toddlers.

Learn about bird migration, how to observe birds and where you can find great places nearby to observe bird migration during a program set for 6 p.m. March 27.

This program is for grades 3-6 and is presented by Whitehall Environmental Advisory Council.

Did you know clothing can make you sick, break your bones and even kill you? Join us 6:30 p.m. March 28 for Fashions To Die For, and learn about 18th- and 19th-century fashions and their deadly secrets.

Presented by Historical Perspectives, this program is held via Zoom. Attend from home or watch from a screen in our community room.

Kids in pre-K through first grade can participate in a PBS-sponsored scavenger hunt around the library, set for 1 p.m. April 4.

The first 25 children to complete the scavenger hunt will receive literacy bags provided by PBS.

Kathy Baker, licensed Medicare insurance agent, will present the basics of Medicare to those new to Medicare in a program planned for 6 p.m. April 4.

An introduction to Excel presentation is set for 6 p.m. April 9. Learn the basics of Excel with a brief introduction and an opportunity for hands-on experience.

You may bring your own laptop if you have Excel installed, but we’ll also have computers for you to use.

Whitehall Environmental Advisory Council will present Backyard Bird Habitats with Native Plants 6 p.m. April 10.

Learn how to create a wildlife habitat in your backyard with native plants, homemade food and water sources, and learn how to create your own solutions for weed and pest control.

The Happening Homeschoolers event is set for 1:30 p.m. April 10 and May 8 for home-schooled students in grades 2-5.

Kids in grades 3-6 can enjoy fun STEAM projects at our monthly Creation Station. We’ll next meet 6-7 p.m. April 17 to create a picture with tape art.

The spring book sale is set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 26 and 27, with a bag sale noon-3 p.m. April 27.
