Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced an arrest warrant has been filed in connection with a Feb. 21 stabbing in Coopersburg.

Manuel Garrido, 23, is charged with Aggravated Assault and Simple Assault. Garrido is in custody and will be arraigned by the Lehigh County Central Booking Center.

At 7:42 a.m. Coopersburg police were called to 421 Main St., Apartment 10, for a stabbing that occurred. The victim, a 23-year-old man, was found suffering from a stab wound to the chest and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest and is undergoing surgery for his injury.

A witness told police that Garrido stabbed the victim during an argument in his apartment, and a large, bloody knife was foundin the kitchen.

The investigation is being conducted by Coopersburg Police Investigator William Nahrgang, Officer Robert Mathes, Chief Anthony Struss as well as the Lehigh County district attorney’s office.
