Michael Thomas Boyko

Michael Thomas Boyko, 63, of Macungie and formerly of Whitehall, died Feb. 5, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of Michael F. and the late Loretta A. (Richel) Boyko.

He graduated from Salisbury High School with the Class of 1978. He studied physics and calculus at Moravian College. He later earned certification as a watercraft mechanic from the Watercraft Institute of America in Daytona, Fla.

He drove for Pitt Ohio, until he was employed at Mack Trucks Macungie plant where he retired as a final truck inspector.

He was a volunteer firefighter and line officer at Macungie Volunteer Fire Company’s Station 15.

In his youth, he was a member of the Allentown YMCA swim team. He was a member of Boy Scouts Troop 5 at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, Allentown, Order of the Arrow.

He was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a daughter, Nicole and spouse Shayne Dugan of Florida; a son, Michael Carl of Whitehall; two granddaughters, Finley and Kyleigh; a brother, David J. and wife Rosiane of Upper Milford Township; a special friend, Janine Marlatt; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were made by Boyko Funeral Home, Allentown.
