Valance G. Weidner, 84, of Northampton, died Jan. 18, 2024, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was the wife of Richard C. Weidner for 62 years. Born in Coaldale, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Alburtis and Bertha (Hoats) Moyer.

She was a 1960 graduate of Lehighton High School.

In her younger years, she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Palmerton Hospital.

She adored animals and always cared for her pets.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Scott D. and his wife, Carla, of Salisbury Township, Brian R. and his wife, Denise, of Bath; twin sister, Phyllis G. and her husband, George Zaraza, of Coopersburg; grandchildren, Derek and his wife, Tanya, Dillion and his wife, Melissa, Zachary and his wife, Lauren, Jenna and her husband, Thomas Kunsman; three great-grandchildren; beloved nieces, Sharon and her husband, Gerald Villa, Lisa and her husband, Robert Buckley III. She was predeceased by a sister, LaVonne Beaver; brothers, Milford, Melvin and Arlington Everett.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Jan. 28 in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehanna St., Allentown. A visitation will be held 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
