‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that.’

Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that.”

As I reflect on that statement, I have a view of the beautiful stained glass windows in our sanctuary. This morning the light is shining through in a beautiful way, illuminating all of the colors in our windows.

The wondrous light of the morning reminds me that God has placed light into each of us. We are chosen to carry that light and share it with the world if we so choose.

Jesus came to the world to be the light and to let us know just how much God loves each and every one of us.

God has chosen us.

Do you remember in gym class back in your elementary school days when two team captains were picked and then they picked the teams? I was NEVER one to be picked first. My forte was NOT gym. So I was always picked last. But I longed to be picked first.

In Christ, I have been picked first and CHOSEN by God to carry the light in the hurting world.

We all have that light inside, even when you don’t feel it. Do you chose to share it? Kindness, love and peace are needed now. Share your light.
