Student takes part in dance

The BU Players and the Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg Division of Theatre and Dance hosted its 12th annual Dance Minor Concert April 30, 2023, and May 1, 2023, in the K.S. Gross Auditorium in Carver Hall.

Nicole Gagliardi of Breinigsville was a dancer in the piece “In Motion” in this production.

She was also the choreographer and sound editor for the piece “Give and Take,” and the choreographer, dancer, and sound editor for the piece “Remembered.”

The overall nature of the production was family-friendly, but it also included instances of mature language in the lyrics of at least one of the pieces of music.

This year’s concert featured six exciting dance works inspired by a wide variety of topical themes and dance styles.

From abstract to traditional storytelling methods, the works explore the current human experience as we feel our way through this complex world.

The concert blended student, alumni, guest artists, faculty, and staff talents as choreographers, dancers, lighting, costume, and sound designers, and was sure to offer something visually pleasing for all ages.

The themes explored included loss/grief, obstacles, and freedom, humbling self-growth, and abstract visual design patterns inspired by the unique sounds of varied composers.
