District News: Winter wonderland day Dec. 21

Moore Elementary School is continuing its school spirit for one last day: On Dec. 21, it’s winter wonderland day - try dressing like a snowman or wear white or blue.

Northampton Area School District will be closed for winter break Dec. 25-Jan. 2, 2024. Have a happy and safe holiday with family and friends!

There will be a purse bingo benefiting Northampton girls basketball Jan. 7, 2024, at Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company, 2718 Mountain View Drive, Bath. Doors open 11:30 a.m.

A ticket includes 20 games, with additional items to purchase.

Online kindergarten registration for the 2024-25 school year, for all elementary buildings, will soon begin.

Visit the NASD website, nasdschools, to begin the process starting Jan. 10, 2024.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 10, 2024, Northampton Area High School will be holding a FAFSA (Free Applications for Federal Student Aid) college completion night in the library. Help will be available for parents/guardians preparing for their child’s college education.

PTA groups are organizing their next meetings for the new year. Mark your calendar.

Lehigh Elementary School PTA will meet 6:30-8 p.m. Jan. 10, 2024, in the school cafeteria.

Northampton Borough Schools PTA meets 4-5 p.m. Jan. 10, 2024, at the Siegfried building.

The Moore Elementary School PTA will meet 6-8 p.m. Jan. 11, 2024, at the school.

Northampton Area Middle School PTA will meet 5-6 p.m. Jan. 18, 2024, at the school.

NASD will be closed Jan. 15, 2024, in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

The end of the second marking period for NAMS students will be Jan. 18, 2024.

Be sure to update your child’s information. This will include all phone numbers, emergency contacts and numbers, email addresses, text numbers and permission for field trips and photos for the 2023-24 school year.

NASD is in need of substitute teachers, instructional assistants, custodians, health room assistants, nurses, hall monitors and security guards.

For teachers, if you have a teaching degree or a bachelor’s degree in any area, you can be of service.
