LETTER TO THE EDITOR Writer endorses Kelly, Roth, Peischl for SWT commissioners

To the Editor:

Thank you to our current South Whitehall Township commissioners for “cleaning up” all the past due required financial audits that were delinquent for 10 years.

The township is now current and has already completed the audit for 2022.

At the Sept. 20 board of commissioners meeting, Herbein and Company auditors reported the 2022 audit as a “very clean audit” with no deficiencies.

What does this mean for SWT taxpayers?

•Grants to offset equipment purchases can now be applied for.

•Recently a $400,000 grant was received to offset equipment purchases that eliminated using tax revenue for that purpose.

•Additional grants are currently being applied for to save more taxpayer money.

•One can only wonder how many grants SWT was disqualified from applying for during the 10-year period of delinquent audits. Our tax money had to be used to make the equipment purchases.

•What could that dollar amount have been???

Competent leadership saves taxpayer dollars.

Remember to vote Kelly, Roth and Peischl on Nov. 7 or on your mail-in ballot.
