Letter to the Editor: Consider Kern as mayoral write-in candidate

To the Editor:

I am a proud Whitehall High School Zephyr alumni and have lived in Whitehall Township for more than 40 years. I love Whitehall, and I am concerned about the future of our township.

After discussing my concerns with many township citizens, I have launched a campaign to be the township’s next mayor as a write-in candidate Nov. 7.

I was a township commissioner 2008-12 and served on the Whitehall Township Public Library trustee board for nearly two terms.

My parents owned a small business in the township for more than 50 years.

I am currently employed by Dun and Bradstreet, a Fortune 500 company, as a project manager. During my 35 years with Dun and Bradstreet, I have worked with multiple levels of associates to resolve business issues by problem solving, sharing ideas and communicating transparently.

I was a member of the 1982 state championship varsity basketball team and served as vice president of the Class of 1984.

I attended Bloomsburg University and was president of my fraternity.

My vision for the township is to leverage my experience in business by building cultures and initiating transformations that will increase service efficiencies for Whitehall residents. I am ready to implement a business continuation plan for our township workforce, so we can maintain a strong staff and also prepare for the future.

I reside in the village of Stiles in Whitehall Township with my wife, Michele.

I want to offer Whitehall residents a third option at the polls Nov. 7. Please consider writing in Kyle Kern for mayor on Election Day.

I am ready to work hard for the people of Whitehall and help our community change for the better and thrive in the future as a productive, safe and ideal place to live.

Kyle Kern
